Blinking face silver ring

This unique ring was inspired by my love for ancient automatons. I have always been fascinated by the almost lost art of creating mechanical illusions of life. I took the challenge to adapt it into a solid silver ring of modern design but still reminiscent of ancient masterpieces.

Like classic dolls, its silver-eyelided black onyx eyes smoothly open and close depending on the inclination of the head (closed when horizontal, opened when vertical), giving it a beautiful and uncanny life-like appearance.

Like all of my other creations, I make this ring by hand in my Parisian workshop. The face in itself is handcarved in wax before being casted in solid sterling silver, while the eyelids and backplate are cut and forged by hand.
